Wow. Exceeded my expectations after doing over a year and a half of research into gastric sleeve. I had a friend recommend ALÔ and it was the best decision of my life! The care, attention, treatment, communication, everything was top notch. Any misconceptions or doubts you have about Mexico, Tijuana or “foreign medical care” doesn’t apply here. 100% would recommend to anyone. Dr Lopez was incredible! Did my surgery Aug 23 2019 and already down 85 lbs! 60 to go....UPDATE: it is just over a year from my surgery and I am down to about 185 lbs. from the original 330! Some new encounters with heartburn, but have managed it well with antacids. I am LOVING the new me!
The doctors and nurses are very attentive to the patient but those who are at the entrance do not give information to the family and do not let anyone in

Very loving and attentive
It was definitely the best decision to go to Dr. Felipe Garcia. If you are in Ensenada and have a problem that requires surgery, you can certainly go with him.
I have nothing but respect for Dr. Camelo and his Team. Everything from His Nurse Coordinator Pamela to pre and post op care and follow up. Great personality goes a longs ways too. So happy to have been referred To this Practice. Highly Recommend.
Dr. Jorge Serrano is a very talented, empathetic, and excellent physician and surgeon for “medical tourists” like myself. He speaks fluent English. His medical office is well appointed with the latest medical equipment, and located in a modern office building just minutes from the border. His practice includes cosmetic and general surgery. Check out his YouTube videos. You’ll be impressed.Dr. Serrano’s recommendations are conservative with no “up sell” pressures. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion from Dr. Serrano.A+ and 5 Star rating!
Wow! Cannot say enough good things about my MBC experience!! I began my journey early 2020–researching and learning all I could about MBC—the doctors, the staff, pre op diet, post op diet, vitamins, the procedure, etc. so much information on the MBC website!! I watched webinars every month and learned something each time especially through the Covid crisis. I had to reschedule twice because of “lockdowns” but I continued with my no soda pop, sugars, bread, and pasta diet. So on my 64th birthday (6/26/20) my friend who had gastric sleeve at MBC in December 2019, accompanied me to San Diego where we were picked up my Erik and taken to Tiquana. Our first stop was the hospital for pre op lab work and paperwork. They were so cautious, taking temperatures as we entered. Then we were taken to the Hyatt where again Covid precautions were taken, disinfecting shoes, temperatures and hand sanitizer! We were helped to our room, given broth, popsicles, and jello. The morning of surgery, I was taken to hospital early for a 7:30 surgery— I got an early slot because Dr Gutierrez was doing hernia repair and gastric sleeve. Everything is so well organized; everyone has a job and everything goes so smoothly! One minute I’m walking into the operating room, laying down and the next minute I’m waking up in recovery. The only pain I experienced was gas in my left shoulder-but thanks to recommendations of taking a heat pad, problem solved. Karla, the Coorindinator, was so very great about checking in on me. Dr Gutierrez and his assistant came by my room. The nurses kept me comfortable with medication I was allowed to walk the short hallway as long as I had my mask on. Ice chips felt so good on my throat and the first sip of apple juice was fantastic!! The day of dismissal, we received our medical reports before heading to the pharmacy to pick up our prescriptions. Back to hotel, then back to San Diego. As a 64 year old, I knew I had to do something with my weight. I had left and right total knee replacements in 2017. Gastric sleeve in the USA, was not an option because of the cost and all of the pre-op and post-op consultations that would require me to take days off work and travel 3 hours round trip each time! For those on the fence, I say Just Do It!! I printed off the 40 pages of information from MBC website—I have made notes on those pages, shared the information with my primary care physician, and referred to my “MBC bible” many times!! Watch the monthly webinars and ask questions!! And get into Facebook support groups—you will meet some of those people face to face, you can share struggles, milestones, recipes, advice and suggestions! For those who are told “it’s the easy way out for losing weight”—I say No. it takes a lot of willpower and “mind over matter” It’s not easy to give up the junk food and bad food habits. It’s not easy to live on clear liquids. It’s not easy to slowly go through the stages of getting back to solid foods. It’s not easy to drink all the water we need to—But the satisfaction and the happiness watching the scale go down to places it hasn’t been in years is well worth it!!! Thank you to MBC —Ron Eli (what a great vision and service you provide) Deanna (who helped me get started), Dr Gutierrez, the nurses, the OR crew, the drivers, the hotel staff, Nutrionist, Karla, (who is so dedicated to her job-hope she’s had time off to enjoy her seafood night with friends), those who are sanitizing and cleaning.Such great team work! Forever grateful to all of you!!
Travelled through the Cronoavirus to get the gastric sleeve. Not only did they go above and beyond to be safe and clean from the covid 19 but its truly a well kept diamond in the rough. Super super clean, very caring, extremely pleasant surgery stay. Absolutely no complications from the sleeve and myself and mother where treated like royalties. Im definitely going back for skin removal. I would trust them with my whole life over and over before I returned to my Florida Doctor who is less clean and less kind. PLEASE DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR OF CONTACTING HOSPITAL JERUSALEM AND I PROMISE AS A PATIENT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Sleeved 7-13-2020 and already down 25 pounds and never felt any pain or sickness.💖💖💖💖
Best thing I have ever done for myself. Cleanest hospital I've ever seen. Staff was fantastic. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I am so happy with the care and support that I received from all of the staff at Oasis of Hope. From the first day I made the decision to have my surgery to even now, the doctors and staff have taken great care to ensure my health and safety. I sincerely wish I knew the names of each and every one of the nurses, doctors, and staff that cared for me so I could personally thank them. I found communicating with the staff very easy, as most of them are fluent in English. I never had an issue with not being understood by staff, even the ones that were not fluent in English. Dr. Gonzales explained the procedure and asked if I had any questions. He really took the time to make sure I had a full understanding of what was being done. The hospital rooms are simple and unadorned with more than enough space to provide a comfortable stay. The shower has lots of hot water and fresh towels. Also, the room had a Lennox wall air conditioner that kept my room very comfortable. As for the hospital itself, it exudes an air of calm and peace. The only people that bustled about were the cleaning staff that cleaned everything in sight. Very Clean!! I walked around the day before my surgery and peeked into rooms with open doors. I found very modern-looking and new equipment. Nothing looked old or outdated. After my surgery, I always knew which doctor was in charge of my care and they can in the room to check on me. There was a doctor available to me 24/7 while I was at Oasis of Hope. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to return for my body contouring surgery in a year!!

Promoting healthy weight management and combatting obesity is the aim of Bariatric Surgery Consultation in Mexico, a medical procedure that alters the structure of the digestive system. It not only significantly aids patients in managing health conditions like Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea but also enhances their holistic health significantly enhancing their quality of life. Your consultation at a recognized clinic will involve discussions about your mental well-being, overall physical health, other available methods, and risks related to this surgery.
Knowing about the process enables more than half of the patients to achieve effective long-term weight loss. Many have benefited from this procedure when conventional weight-loss strategies have failed them. Under competent healthcare authorities, Bariatric Surgery Consultation in Mexico can be a transformative journey.
The cost for Bariatric Surgery Consultation in Mexico varies greatly depending on a host of factors including the surgeon's fees, the costs for your stay in the hospital, the specifics of the surgery you're getting, and what kind of aftercare you're going to need. During your first doctor's visit, you should get an idea of what you're looking at price-wise. Good news though, a lot of insurance providers will cover at least some of this cost, so be sure to chat with them about what's included in your plan.
Now, if you're coming from overseas, many clinics offer packages tailored for you. They usually bundle in the surgical procedure itself, your stay at the hospital, post-surgery care, and sometimes even your stay and drive around town. But, when you're deciding on a clinic, don't just concentrate on the cost. Keep an eye out on how reputable the clinic and surgeon are as well.
The Bariatric Surgery Consultation initiative begins with a detailed consultation phase where the clinic medical crew scrutinizes the patient's past medical records, existing health condition, and future health objectives. Analysis can include tests like blood testing, heart-monitoring, mental health evaluation, nutritional advice, and so on. Based on these results, the surgeon selects the most fitting surgical procedure for the patient’s case.
The surgery typically includes decreasing the stomach's size or bypassing a segment of the digestive system, thus reducing food consumption and nutrient absorption. Various types of these surgeries exist, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. Each method differs in its execution, associated risks, and recovery phases but all aim to help the patient achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Several factors affect the recommended duration of stay in Mexico for a Bariatric Surgery Consultation operation, including the specific surgical technique used, personal recovery pace, and possible post-operative complications. Generally, a 2-3 days hospital stay is followed post-operation with an overall stay within the country for 1-2 weeks.
Nonetheless, these suggestions are mere guidelines, with the actual duration being variable for different patients. Time allowance for pre-operative consultations and post-operative appointments should also be considered. A comprehensive plan specific to your requirements will be provided by your clinic.
The recovery time from a Bariatric Surgery Consultation varies depending on the type of surgery performed and the general well-being of the patient. Typically, post-surgery hospital stays range from 2-3 days, with an initial recovery period of 3-5 weeks. During this time, the patient will gradually progress from a liquid diet to solid foods as the body adjusts to the new size of the stomach. It's crucial to follow your surgeon’s dietary recommendations to ensure a smooth and prompt recovery.
Moreover, recovering from Bariatric Surgery Consultation also includes lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise and a long-term commitment to a healthy diet. Complete recovery and return to normal activity levels can take anywhere between 3-9 months post-surgery, and continuous monitoring of nutritional intake is vital during this period.
Following the Bariatric Surgery Consultation procedure in Mexico, a special emphasis on aftercare is indispensable for successful recuperation and achieving the desired results. The process starts immediately post-surgery where the patient's health and recovery progress are closely monitored by the medical team at the clinic.
Proper diet and nutrition play a crucial role in post-treatment care. Following the procedure, patients are expected to adhere to a specific diet chart that generally starts with liquid diets, progressing gradually to soft foods, and eventually normal intake. Besides diet, regular physical exercises are encouraged to ensure effective recovery, cardiovascular health maintenance, and reinforcement of weight management.
Most importantly, scheduled follow-up appointments with the surgeon are vital for monitoring your recovery progress. Psychological support should also be sought if required, as dealing with significant weight changes can often be overwhelming. It’s equally important for the patient to be mentally prepared for lifestyle changes and to remain motivated throughout the journey.
The journey post Bariatric Surgery Consultation isn’t often easy but with proper aftercare, emotional support, and lifestyle changes, patients can expect to make a complete recovery and enjoy the benefits of a healthier weight and improved quality of life.
The success rate of Bariatric Surgery Consultation procedures in Mexico is reliant on several factors, including the experience of the surgeon, the type of procedure performed, and the patient’s commitment to post-operative lifestyle changes. When we talk about procedures like RY gastric bypass and LAP-BAND, the success rates are actually quite high.
To give an idea, 75-80% of people who have these surgeries find long-term success. That's a majority of people reaping the benefits of these procedures. If you're thinking about it, this should give you some hope. Yet, as with all medical decisions, make sure you chat with your doctor about the risks and benefits before making a final decision.
While Bariatric Surgery Consultation has proven effective for long-term weight loss, some individuals might prefer or require alternatives either due to personal preference or medical reasons. Alternatives to bariatric surgery consultation procedures do exist. Two prominent non-surgical options for weight loss that are becoming increasingly popular are the endoscopic gastric sleeve (ESG) and the Orbera gastric balloon.
These procedures are pretty interesting because they don't involve surgery. Also, the good news is that if you ever change your mind after getting either of these procedures, they are reversible. And to top it all off, they pose minimal risks to your health. Regardless, it's essential to discuss these alternatives with your healthcare provider to understand the potential benefits and risks.
Before the Bariatric Surgery Consultation, you'll go through a health screening which includes tests like blood tests, ultrasounds, and x-rays. The doctor will also perform an endoscopy to ensure your stomach is in the right condition for the surgery. You'll also meet with a dietician to discuss dietary changes you'll need to make after the surgery. Also, don't forget to stop eating and drinking after midnight the day before your surgery. If you're on any medication, especially blood thinners or herbal medicine, do let your doctor know.
After surgery, the main rule is to opt for three meals a day and avoid snacking. Listen to your body, stop eating when you're full, and cut your food into small pieces. Drink plenty of water between meals, but try to avoid it just before or after eating. Keep your sugar intake minimal, and stay away from fizzy drinks and anything too sweet. Lean, high protein food is your new best friend and try to avoid high carbs and fat food. A proper dose of exercise is also crucial, so aim for a 30-minute workout at least five times a week. And remember, vitamins and dietary supplements should be taken as per your doctor's instructions.
Travel Bariatric Surgery Consultation in Mexico requires you to make significant adjustments to your postoperative lifestyle. To begin with, you would be on a liquid meal plan for several weeks. Gradually, you'll transition to soft foods before you're finally able to get back to eating solid foods. It's not always easy, but staying hydrated is critical soon after the surgery. Try to take 64 ounces of fluids or more daily - it helps to avoid problems like nausea, kidney issues, constipation, and fatigue.
The other vital aspect of your post-surgery lifestyle involves your protein intake. The medical team responsible for your bariatric surgery would typically recommend between 60 to 100 grams of protein every day. Now, this varies from person to person. To meet this goal, you should concentrate on eating foods rich in protein, while cutting down on those high in sugar and starch. Failure to consume sufficient protein might leave you feeling weak, and could even result in muscle loss.
Research has repeatedly shown a strong link between obesity and mental health, the most notable of these being depression and anxiety. When people go through weight loss surgery, it often enhances their mental stability. This is because shedding those extra pounds can lead to a positive change in how you view yourself, improving your mood and boosting your self-esteem.
Although, bariatric surgery messes around a bit with some hormones, specifically ghrelin and leptin. These two control your hunger and fullness feelings. When they're tweaked, your mood gets a lift and you feel more energetic. This can help push away feelings of anxiety and depression. Plus, if you have other health issues like diabetes or high blood pressure, losing weight can improve these, making you feel better overall. It all adds up to a big plus for mental health.

Given Mexico's immense size, it's unsurprising that the climate varies significantly across different locations. The periodic patterns across the nation are not homogenous, as one would expect in a smaller, less diverse country. Instead, Mexico’s topography, which is incredibly varied, heavily influences the country’s diverse weather and climate.
In terms of seasonality, Mexico traditionally experiences two major seasons - the rainy season and the dry season. Each of these seasons presents its own unique set of conditions and weather patterns, shaping the climate across the country in distinctive ways. The shifts between these periods of rain and periods of drought are quite pronounced, showcasing the climatic dualism that shapes the Mexican landscape. This cyclical pattern of rainy and dry seasons is a key part of Mexico's climatic identity, having profound effects on both its environment and the livelihood of its inhabitants.
