My wife had a broken Pinky and of course we didnt have any health insurance. After carefully looking over reviews online I got into contact with Dr. Ontiveros and he was able to provide us with details and how much it would cost us to fix her broken pinky. Dr Ontiveros was able to get us into a room and started the procedure. From beginning to end doctor was very professional and was with us 100% of the time and made sure we felt comfortable. Me and my wife definitely recommend this doctor he tells you how it is. Thanks Doctor!! - Mark

Travelled through the Cronoavirus to get the gastric sleeve. Not only did they go above and beyond to be safe and clean from the covid 19 but its truly a well kept diamond in the rough. Super super clean, very caring, extremely pleasant surgery stay. Absolutely no complications from the sleeve and myself and mother where treated like royalties. Im definitely going back for skin removal. I would trust them with my whole life over and over before I returned to my Florida Doctor who is less clean and less kind. PLEASE DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR OF CONTACTING HOSPITAL JERUSALEM AND I PROMISE AS A PATIENT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Sleeved 7-13-2020 and already down 25 pounds and never felt any pain or sickness.💖💖💖💖

Dr. Juan Carlos Fuentes

abigail migala, 19 March 2020

I have hated my lower eye bags for years. Now at age 59 I decided to do something about it. My cousin who is an RN and esthetician in the Bay Area recommended Dr. Juan Carlos Fuentes, who operates at a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. Via a virtual consultation, whereby I sent him photographs and details of what I was seeking, he returned a price quote and details of the procedure he recommended, Transconjunctival Blepharoplasy. My assigned contact there, Yesenia, was knowledgeable and prompt getting back to me with answers to all my emailed questions. I decided to go ahead, and traveled to his lovely, state-of-the-art clinic, Cosmed, in Tijuana to first have the required lab tests done, and then returned 2 weeks later for the surgery. From start to finish he and his staff were professional and compassionate. The surgery lasted an hour, under local anesthesia with a sedative. I was discharged that day with stiches and surgical tape to keep them in place. I followed instructions, applied icepacks and took it very easy for a few days. I returned 5 days later to have the stitches removed, and was stunned by the dramatic improvement so soon after the procedure. The rapid healing and minor swelling and bruising I attribute to Dr. Fuentes’ masterful skills and long experience doing cosmetic surgery. I returned to work after 6 days and my coworkers were all amazed at the difference and how good I looked. Today is 8 days after, and I still can’t believe it when I look in the mirror. The whole experience and improvement far surpassed my expectations, and I heartily recommend Dr. Fuentes and Cosmed for any cosmetic surgery you may be considering. He partners with a few other surgeons at the clinic, who are also tops in their specialties. I saved thousands of dollars compared to what I’d have paid here in the US, and got a world-class result. Thank you, Dr. Fuentes and Cosmed!

What you need to know about Eyelid Surgery in Mexico

Eyelid Surgery Before and After

Eyelid surgery, commonly known as blepharoplasty, is a form of plastic surgery that can be used to either improve the appearance of the eye region of the face or fix problems that exist in the eyelids itself. The treatment is almost always done for cosmetic purposes, with the goal being to make the patient look younger and more attentive.

However, in certain situations, it can also improve sight in people who have droopy upper eyelids that come in the way of their field of vision. This is the case in people who have droopy upper eyelids that go in the way of their range of vision.

What is the cost of Eyelid Surgery in Mexico?

Several elements influence the price of undergoing an Eyelid Surgery in Thailand, such as the experience and skill of the surgeon, the complexity of the operation, and the operational facilities.

Generally speaking, the Eyelid Surgery price in Thailand fluctuates between $2,000 and $5,000 per eye, which includes only the surgeon's expense. Other related costs, such as anesthesia, operating room services, and other associated fees, are not included in this figure.

Classic health insurance normally does not take care of the costs of cosmetic operations like Eyelid Surgery. If the surgery is executed for health-related or functional reasons, like rectifying vision problems caused by sagging eyelids, insurance could cover most of the cost. Nevertheless, it's advisable always to verify first with your insurance broker and the chosen healthcare center in Thailand to understand what costs are covered.

What does a Eyelid Surgery Procedure Involve?

During the operation, it's common for you to receive a local anesthesia injection around the eye, together with a mild sedative to ease your nervousness. If you need both your upper and lower eyelids addressed, the surgeon usually starts with the upper lids. The surgical operation commences with the surgeon cutting incisions following the natural folds of the eyelid.

Subsequently, the surgeon takes out any surplus skin, fat, and muscle tissue prior to stitching the cuts shut. After finishing the task on the upper eyelid, the surgeon shifts to the lower eyelid. The first step here involves making an incision below your lower eyelashes; then unnecessary skin and muscle tissue are eradicated, and the injury is sewn up.

How Long Should I Stay in Mexico for a Eyelid Surgery Procedure?

If Mexico is either not your current living destination or if you've voyaged there particularly for the Eyelid Surgery, it becomes necessary to factor in this suggested duration of stay. Doing this grants you ample time to rest and begin the preliminary phase of recovery under the watchful guidance of your healthcare team. This approach ensures the prevention of post-surgery complications. The opportunity to adapt to your new appearance post-operation in a professional and supportive setting also promotes a more relaxed and worry-free recuperation process.

Afterward, during your subsequent appointment generally arranged a few days following the surgery, your doctor in Mexico will not only take out your stitches but also examine your recovery progress. They will also provide individualized guidance for your aftercare and respond to any of your questions about maintaining the results of your treatment. This holistic strategy is developed to present to you the safest, most efficacious Eyelid Surgery experience in Mexico.

MyMediTravel currently lists 53 facilities in Mexico offering Eyelid Surgery procedures - see above for the complete list, along with estimated prices. The price of a Eyelid Surgery can vary according to each individual’s case and will be determined based on photos and an in-person assessment with the specialist. What's the Recovery Time for Eyelid Surgery Procedures in Mexico?

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty can sound quite serious. But don't worry, most people recover well. Just remember, everyone heals from surgery differently. After the operation, you might have some swelling or bruising around your eyes. This can last for up to two weeks - that's normal, it’s just your body healing.

After about five days, you should be able to get back to your normal routine - things like going to work, exercising, or even lifting heavy stuff. Now, if you're a contact lens wearer, it's a bit different. You need to wait at least two weeks after the surgery before putting them in. The doctor handling your case will give you all the detailed information you need for your recovery. Each person is unique, and so is their recovery journey, so follow your doctor's advice closely.

What About Aftercare of Eyelid Surgery in Mexico?

After eyelid surgery, you'll receive specific instructions from your surgeon which are really important to follow. Your surgeon will guide you on taking care of the wound and any limitations, for example, not scratching your eyes and keeping away from smoky environments, like those created by cigarettes. This is super important to make sure you heal properly.

Being gentle with your eyelids during this time is key. You may need to carefully clean your eyelids and use prescribed eye drops or creams. This helps keep the area clean and aids your body in the healing process. Also, we can't forget about protection from the sun and wind - two things that can be harsh on your healing eyelids. If you're going outside, remember to wear sunglasses with a good, dark tint. These will shield your eyes and the sensitive skin around them from potential damage.

What's the Success Rate of Eyelid Surgery Procedures in Mexico?

Eyelid surgery generally has a remarkably high success rate, with most individuals being satisfied with their post-surgery aesthetics. Indeed, for a lucky few, these results may be lifelong. However, like all things in life, it does carry some risks.

Following the procedure, you might experience dryness or discomfort in your eyes. There are also common surgical risks, such as contracting an infection or noticing bleeding. Additionally, there is the possibility of minor scarring, or injury to the muscles surrounding your eyes.

Less frequent complications could include changes in skin pigmentation, temporary blurred vision or even loss of vision, the formation of a blood clot, or the return of sagging eyelids. Moreover, some individuals might have an allergic reaction to the anesthesia used during the surgery. Although these complications are rare, they can occur. As a result, it's crucial to be aware that they could potentially arise.

Are there Alternatives to Eyelid Surgery Procedures in Mexico?

Operative procedures can be a source of anxiety for some individuals, which is completely normal. There are still paths to achieve comparable results without resorting to surgical measures. Alternative methods could be laser interventions or procedures such as Botox, along with innovations like HIFU and Ulthera.

However, let's remember that these alternatives don't fit everyone's needs. Every person is distinct, and a treatment method that's beneficial for you might not be so for others. Formulate strategy with your medical expert who can steer you towards the ideal course for you. Have no concerns, they're there for your welfare. In the end, it comes down to boosting your confidence and contentment.

What Should You Expect Before and After the Procedure

Before you decide to take the leap and opt for eyelid surgery, there's a chance that you have droopy eyelids which might affect your side vision. The extra skin hanging around your eyes can cause wrinkles and little bulges. These might make you look worn-out, and perhaps a bit older than you really are.

But after the surgery, it's like your eyes have had a nice, refreshing rest. You'll look so much younger, and it'll boost your confidence up. Just imagine looking into the mirror and seeing those spry, alert eyes staring back at you. It's more than just physical beauty – it's about waking up feeling good about yourself every day. It's about matching your outward appearance with the lively person you are on the inside. It's about looking as young as you feel.

What Are the Potential Risks and Complications of Eyelid Surgery in Mexico?

Similar to all operative procedures, even Eyelid Surgery in Mexico has certain potential hazards and complications. These could encompass:

  • Infection
  • Hemorrhage
  • Scarring
  • Challenges in shutting your eyes
  • Dry ocular condition
  • Mismatch in the size between the two eyelids.

In rare instances, some patients might also confront temporary or lasting alterations in their eyesight. It's crucial to have a discussion about these hazards with your medical practitioner in Mexico prior to the surgery. Understand their approach to control these risks and their protocol for handling any complications post-surgery.

Can I combine Eyelid Surgery with other Cosmetic Procedures in Mexico

Combining procedures, despite its advantages, can also increase the duration of the surgery and potential risk for complications. So, your surgeon in Mexico will need to carry out a detailed assessment of your overall health, understand your aesthetic preferences, and accordingly decide the safe and effective course of action. They might even confer with other specialists if needed, keeping your best interests at the forefront.

Communication is critical in these stages. You should be open and honest with your surgeon about your expectations, concerns, and any existing health problems. This two-way, candid conversation will undoubtedly aid in making an informed decision about combining Eyelid Surgery with other cosmetic procedures in *AreaName.*, ensuring your journey towards enhancing your appearance is safe, successful, and satisfying.

How Should I Manage Pain After Eyelid Surgery in Mexico?

Managing post-operative pain following Eyelid Surgery in Mexico effectively is an integral part of your recovery process. Initially, you might experience mild to moderate discomfort, swelling, and bruising around your eyes. Your surgeon will likely prescribe pain medication to help manage this initial discomfort. Following the prescribed dosage strictly and under supervision of your healthcare provider will effectively control your pain symptoms.

Over-the-counter pain medicine can also be beneficial provided that you discuss this with your surgeon first. Some, such as aspirin, may increase the risk of bleeding and might not be recommended. Application of cold packs on your eyes at regular intervals may also be suggested by your surgeon, as it can help alleviate swelling and pain.

However, it is important to remember that pain is subjective and can vary from person to person. If you find your pain isn't easing despite medication, or if it worsens, it should not be overlooked. Immediate medical attention should be sought as severe or increasing pain could indicate a complication. Your healthcare provider in Mexico will guide you regarding the best ways to manage your pain and at all times, your comfort and well-being will be their top priority.

Whilst the information presented here has been accurately sourced and verified by a medical professional for its accuracy, it is still advised to consult with your doctor before pursuing a medical treatment at one of the listed medical providers
