Dr. Lara and his entire staff are the best. I reached out to several plastic surgeons and did my homework on their backgrounds, experience, etc. I decided to go with Dr. Lara because he had the highest ratings with a lot of experience. In addition, I worked with his Patient Coordinator, Itchtel. Her attentiveness and willingness to answer ALL of my questions let me know that they were the hospital for me. Dr. Lara called me to as well and that was a bonus (most of Dr.'s assistants call in my experience). When I arrived, I was met with kindness from everyone from the staff to the cardiologist to the anesthesiologist, to Dr. Lara. It's only day one, but I feel great, my body looks great even with the expected swelling and bruising. If I ever need anything again or get the chance to recommend a plastic surgeon, it will be him!

Travelled through the Cronoavirus to get the gastric sleeve. Not only did they go above and beyond to be safe and clean from the covid 19 but its truly a well kept diamond in the rough. Super super clean, very caring, extremely pleasant surgery stay. Absolutely no complications from the sleeve and myself and mother where treated like royalties. Im definitely going back for skin removal. I would trust them with my whole life over and over before I returned to my Florida Doctor who is less clean and less kind. Well this is my second time here and let me tell you if I would be able to give Dr. Castañeda and his staff 10 stars that is exactly what I would give them. He made me feel very comfortable from the beginning to end. He answered all my questions. He is very professional and his work is AMAZING!! Already referred friends and family and will continue to do so. Staff is very knowledgeable, polite and super friendly. Clinic is very modern and clean. The Recovery Center is also amazing. Awesome rooms and service. You just don’t want to leave this place. Great job Dr. Castañeda and staff!! One very happy patient.

I have hated my lower eye bags for years. Now at age 59 I decided to do something about it. My cousin who is an RN and esthetician in the Bay Area recommended Dr. Juan Carlos Fuentes, who operates at a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. Via a virtual consultation, whereby I sent him photographs and details of what I was seeking, he returned a price quote and details of the procedure he recommended, Transconjunctival Blepharoplasy. My assigned contact there, Yesenia, was knowledgeable and prompt getting back to me with answers to all my emailed questions. I decided to go ahead, and traveled to his lovely, state-of-the-art clinic, Cosmed, in Tijuana to first have the required lab tests done, and then returned 2 weeks later for the surgery. From start to finish he and his staff were professional and compassionate. The surgery lasted an hour, under local anesthesia with a sedative. I was discharged that day with stiches and surgical tape to keep them in place. I followed instructions, applied icepacks and took it very easy for a few days. I returned 5 days later to have the stitches removed, and was stunned by the dramatic improvement so soon after the procedure. The rapid healing and minor swelling and bruising I attribute to Dr. Fuentes’ masterful skills and long experience doing cosmetic surgery. I returned to work after 6 days and my coworkers were all amazed at the difference and how good I looked. Today is 8 days after, and I still can’t believe it when I look in the mirror. The whole experience and improvement far surpassed my expectations, and I heartily recommend Dr. Fuentes and Cosmed for any cosmetic surgery you may be considering. He partners with a few other surgeons at the clinic, who are also tops in their specialties. I saved thousands of dollars compared to what I’d have paid here in the US, and got a world-class result. I have had multiple procedures by Dr. Juan Pablo Cervantes. After Bariatric surgery having 3 children and turning 60 . Dr. Cervantes is skilled , knowledgeable, and kind . He is honest and will not put your safety at risk. I have had a facelift , tummy tuck, Bbl, arm lift. They all went great no complications. I’m scheduled in May 2020 for thigh lift and a few minor tweets. So take from this California nurse. I did my research . Dr. cervantes and his wife Dr. Aragon are wonderful. 😘❤️😘

I was so scared to do breasts implants and i will never thought i will do it in tj.but omg i had Sergery at 12 and i was aready walking out by 5. Dr Mauel did a wonderful job.i love my breast. Not in a lot of pain.i cant belive it. All the Dr there and the nurses where so sweet and the made shore to keep a eye on me. They realy kater to my needs. I am so happy with the care and support that I received from all of the staff at Oasis of Hope. From the first day I made the decision to have my surgery to even now, the doctors and staff have taken great care to ensure my health and safety. I sincerely wish I knew the names of each and every one of the nurses, doctors, and staff that cared for me so I could personally thank them. I found communicating with the staff very easy, as most of them are fluent in English. I never had an issue with not being understood by staff, even the ones that were not fluent in English. Dr. Gonzales explained the procedure and asked if I had any questions. He really took the time to make sure I had a full understanding of what was being done. The hospital rooms are simple and unadorned with more than enough space to provide a comfortable stay. The shower has lots of hot water and fresh towels. Also, the room had a Lennox wall air conditioner that kept my room very comfortable. As for the hospital itself, it exudes an air of calm and peace. The only people that bustled about were the cleaning staff that cleaned everything in sight. Very Clean!! I walked around the day before my surgery and peeked into rooms with open doors. I found very modern-looking and new equipment. Nothing looked old or outdated. After my surgery, I always knew which doctor was in charge of my care and they can in the room to check on me. There was a doctor available to me 24/7 while I was at Oasis of Hope. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to return for my body contouring surgery in a year!!

What you need to know about Nose Surgery in Tijuana
Commonly referred to as a Rhinoplasty, it is the medical term for reshaping of the nose or corrective surgery of the nose. It is one of the most common facial plastic surgeries (Facelift) procedures performed. Nose surgery can be performed to change the consequence of genetics, birth defect or nasal injury. It can be performed to enhance the appearance and/or to improve nasal breathing.
Surgery can be performed to correct nasal humps, the curvature of nose-bridge, nose tip irregularities, and asymmetry in the nostrils. The nasal appearance can be altered in various ways using intra-nasal chisels. Nose surgery procedures generally fall under three types: open rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty, and tip rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is normally performed under general anesthesia and will not leave any visible scars on the nose.
What does a Nose Surgery Procedure Involve?
Nose surgery is an individualized surgery. Before the surgery, you will need to discuss important factors with your surgeon to determine if it is suitable for you. Your surgeon will review your medical history, including your previous surgeries, medical conditions, and any medications you are taking. You will need to have a complete physical examination, such as blood tests. Your surgeon will also consider your other facial features, the skin on your nose, and what you would like to change or correct. Then, your surgeon will develop a customized plan for you. Two weeks before and after surgery, avoid any medications that contain aspirin or ibuprofen, such as Advil and Motrin IB because these medications can increase bleeding. You will need to also stop taking herbal remedies and over-the-counter supplements. If you are an active smoker, stop smoking because smoking can slow your healing process and increase the risk of getting an infection.
During the actual surgery, you will be given either local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The type of anesthesia depends on how complex the surgery is and what the surgeon would prefer to use. Then, the surgery will start by making incisions inside your nose or at the base of your nose between your nostrils. Your surgeon will reshape the inner bone and cartilage underneath your skin to make a more pleasing appearance.
There are several ways to change the shape of your nasal bones or cartilage, depending on your nose’s structure and how much needs to be removed or added. If only small changes are required, your surgeon may use cartilage taken from deeper inside your nose or your ear. However, for a much larger change, your surgeon may use cartilage from your rib, implants, or bone from other parts of your body. When the changes are finished, your surgeon will place the nose’s skin and tissue back. The incisions will be closed by stitches.
How Long Should I Stay in Tijuana for a Nose Surgery Procedure?
If everything goes well, you can go back to your hotel on the same day once the effects of anesthesia wear off. However, you will need to stay in a recovery room for a few hours so the staff can monitor you. Some people may need to stay in hospital overnight. After you are discharged from the hospital, you will need to stay in Tijuana for at least 10 to 14 days for initial recovery, follow-up checkups, and for the stitches to be removed.
What's the Recovery Time for Nose Surgery Procedures in Tijuana?
The recovery period for nose surgery can be different from person to person. In general, 2 to 3 weeks is needed until you can get back to your full normal routine and 3 to 6 weeks until you can do any strenuous activity. However, you should be able to go back to work within a week, except if your job requires strenuous physical activity. You will feel gradually better each day in the first week. You will experience swelling, which can take six months to subside. The only people who will notice the swelling is you and your surgeon. Your final nose shape will be apparent after it is completely healed.
What sort of Aftercare is Required for Nose Surgery Procedures in Tijuana?
After the surgery, you may need to wear a nasal splint for the first week. The splint is used to protect and support your nose. Your nose may be congested due to swelling or from the nasal splint. You need to rest in bed with your head raised higher than your chest to reduce bleeding and swelling. For a few days after the surgery, you may also experience slight bleeding and drainage of mucus. Your surgeon may place a “drip pad” under your nose to absorb drainage.
Your surgeon may ask you to avoid strenuous activity, take baths instead of showers, avoid blowing your nose, eat high-fiber foods to avoid constipation, not to do any facial expressions (smiling or laughing), not wearing pull clothing and wear button-downs instead.
For at least several weeks after the surgery, do not rest eyeglasses or sunglasses on your nose to prevent pressure. You should also wear SPF 30 sunscreen when you are outside because too much sun can cause permanent irregular discoloration to your nose. Do not put anything such as ice or cold packs on your nose even though it is swelling as the swelling will go away faster by limiting your dietary sodium.
What's the Success Rate of Nose Surgery Procedures in Tijuana?
Nose surgery is known to have around 80% to 90% success rate. Nevertheless, just like any other surgery, it still has possible risks and complications. These risks are bleeding, infection, numbness, permanent nerve damage, and an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. You should call your surgeon immediately if you suspect any of the symptoms. Other possible risks are difficulty breathing through your nose, uneven-looking nose, persisting pain, swelling, and discoloration, scarring, septal perforation, and the need for a second or third surgery.
