Brazil is the largest country in South America. It is famous as home to the most successful national soccer team in the history of the FIFA World Cup, having won five world cups. With its large size, Brazil is filled with a variation of scenic landscapes. Visitors will find forests, jungles, mountains, beaches, rivers, as well as some of the largest and busiest cities in the world filled with colonial towns and skyscrapers.
In recent years, the number of medical tourists visiting Brazil for treatment has been increasing significantly. According to WHO, Brazil has the best healthcare system in Latin America and it boasts around 64 JCI-accredited medical facilities. Recognized as the “World Capital of Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery,” the country is well-known for its world-class surgery packages. Besides cosmetic treatments, many medical tourists also come to Brazil to receive other medical treatments, including cardiac surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and fertility treatment.
The second-largest city in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, is the most popular in the country. From the world-famous Copacabana beaches and trendy Ipanema beach to the epic Corcovado summit with the legendary Christ the Redeemer statue on its top, this city is filled with world-famous attractions. Another famous city in Brazil is São Paulo, a sprawling metropolis that is perfect for anyone who enjoys live music, fine dining, and wild nightlife. It also has a thriving art community, which can be discovered through the city’s art-house cinemas and experimental theaters. Some of the highlights of this city are the Museu de Arte, Teatro Municipal, and Ibirapuera Park.
Tourists generally arrive at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport or Rio de Janeiro Galeao International Airport. Both airports operate flights to numerous major cities around the world and are served by budget airlines in addition to major airlines. Since Brazil is very big in size, the easiest way to get around the country is domestic flights. Buses are also available. To travel around major cities, Brazil Metro and taxi are the best options.
Brazil allows citizens of about 72 countries, including all EU citizens, the US, and Argentina, to visit the country without a visa for up to 90 days. All visitors must have a passport that is valid for at least six months following the date of arrival.
Most of Brazil is located within the tropics. Therefore, the country generally enjoys a warm climate all year round, with two seasons: the dry season (March to November) and the wet season (December to February).
